  What is air pollution?

Air pollution is air that has been made unclean by harmful substances. Air pollution has an impact on the air in a certain area, which affects animals and plants living there.

Where has this happened?

In London 1952 about 4000 people died from respiratory diseases

During a killer smog. The smog made a difference in the cities health. Many trees and animals were killed.

How can we stop this?

To try and stop air pollution Congress passed the air quality act in 1967. Under this act the federal government set goals called air quality standards for achieving cleaner air. You can help by walking instead of driving.
