01/15/13 - NWSS - Pre-IB Information Night for parents of current Grade 8 students. Begins at 6:30pm, in the NWSS Library.

02/01/13 - Deadline for receipt of Teacher Referral Forms for prospective grade 9 NWSS Pre-IB students.

02/23/13 - NWSS Pre-IB Entrance Testing for grade 8 students, 9:30am - 12:15pm in the Pearson Cafeteria.

05/23/13 - Entrance testing for prospective NWSS Pre-IB grade 10 students, prospective grade 11 students. 9:00am - 12Noon, Room 160A.

05/02/13 to 05/22/13 - Grade 12 IB Examinations. Good Luck grade 12s.

IB French 11/12

These courses prepare the students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma or Certificate, as well as for the French 12 provincial Exam. Keeping in mind the three areas of knowledge which are the basis of the International Baccalaureate Organization’s idea of the learning of a second language: language, communicative purpose, cultural interaction, students will:

1. Learn further about the elements of the French language (morphology, grammar, syntax)
2. Develop an ease in responding to the language and its subtleties, oral or written, in various situations (vocabulary, idioms and expressions, phonetics)
3. Acquire an awareness of the evolution of the French language and of its state in today’s world, as well as of how languages and cultures are bonded (etymology, accents and dialects, linguistic ethic)
