Attention: All newcomer immigrant and refugee families.
Settlement workers in Schools program is here to support you.

 What is the role of the Settlement Workers in Schools (SWIS)?

To provide settlement support to all  newcomer school aged children, and their families  as they adjust to their new life in Canada
To connect newly arrived families to services and resources in the school and the community in order to  promote settlement and foster student achievement
To provide information to students and their families about schooling and community services and to provide  referral to other services as required
To bridge home-school communication
To assist the newcomer students and their parents to adapt to the local school system

However, if you need services after school hours, this can be arranged with the settlement worker.
