The New Westminster School District offers an
annual scholarship for one school year to an international student
who is in grades 10 to 12. The selection of the successful applicant
is based on criteria that take into consideration financial need,
academic record, and citizenship. The scholarship will cover
the costs of the application, tuition, and homestay placement
fees. Costs that are the responsibility of the student and not
covered by the scholarship include the textbook deposit, medical
insurance, and the homestay deposit and monthly fees should homestay
be required. |
The applicant will submit an International Education
Program Application Form as normally required, including the
following documents:
- All original or certified true copies of transcripts or school
records from the current year and previous two years translated
into English.
- A letter of recommendation from the student's current school
indicating why they would support the student's application
for the scholarship. The student's scholastic achievement,
participation in the community, and qualities of citizenship
should be referenced.
- A statement from the student's parent(s) indicating financial
need.
- An essay from the student outlining the reasons he/she is
applying for the scholarship. The essay should include the
student's interests, achievements and goals.
- A current photograph
