While enrolled in a New Westminster school, you are integrated into academic classes and activities with Canadian students. NWSS Library Completing high school in New Westminster is an excellent way to prepare for university or college. Learn English One Step at a Time Upon arrival, new International students take an English test, then are given a combination of academic and ESL classes suitable to their level. We have four levels of ESL, from beginner to advanced levels. Students are reassessed at the end of each semester to see how much they have improved, and advance to the next level according to their improvement. Complete Your High School Diploma Canadian high schools work on a credit system. Students graduate once they complete enough credits in a variety of subject areas.
