New Westminster Secondary School is home to a premier theatre, the Massey Theatre. Massey Theatre is a 1,260 seat performing arts facility operated by the Massey Theatre Society, a not-for-profit organization. The Theatre opened in 1949 and hosts about 200 performances each year; everything from school drama productions and jazz band concerts to the Royal City Ballet and the New Westminster Symphony Orchestra.
